We are heading for an election that has terrified the government in view of the possibility of losing the majority at the National Assembly. At the same time, a global crisis is taking place and it is expressed in the political, institutional, military, ethical and economic fields. All that Chávez’s stuff about poverty is aimed at a captive crowd maintained based on social missions and the culture of charity, which has nothing to do with social justice, one of the fundamental principles of which is universality. “I help you provided that you wear a red shirt.” That is political patronage here and anywhere else. The crisis of values is mirrored in corruption which is eating away at the regime after the strenuous failure of a government unable to administer the country. Ineptitude seems to be unpremeditated. What about corruption?
