The SG-465 EFIS symbol generator needs to be configured for the equipment specific to the installation. This is done by using a menu driven program on the display unit. The resulting configuration is stored both in the symbol generator and in a configuration module attached to the mounting rack. The configuration module remains a part of the aircraft installation and is used to transfer the configuration to replacement symbol generators. Whenever the configuration stored in the configuration module and the configuration stored in the symbol generator differ, the operator is asked to choose which one to use. Please refer to Page 4-330 (section 4.10.2.E.) of the EFS-40/50 Installation manual for detailed instructions detailed on proper symbol generator configuration.
