The service will not auto start with startup type set to automatic. Why?
The most likely reason is that your networking subsystem loads with a delay at startup. The Trilentâ„¢ FTP Proxy is a Windows service. Services load at startup with other operating system components before user-level programs. If your networking system is implemented as a user-level software (as is the case with satellite Internet or some DSL), the network interfaces do not yet exist when the proxy service attempts to start. If this is your case, there is a simple workaround. Let us know, and we’ll email you a simple program that starts the Trilent FTP Proxy service. Copy the program to the “Startup” folder and the proxy will always be started after the network. This workaround does not change the fact that the network must start before the proxy service startup. It simply starts the proxy service with other user-level programs. For it to work, your DSL must be started from the “Startup” folder also.
