The Series 63 was updated on April 1, 2002. Does that mean older study materials no longer apply?
Not necessarily. The updating of the Series 63 entailed replacing, as of April 1, 2002, the existing question bank, increasing the number of questions on the exam, and providing more time to complete the exam. However, the Series 63 is still a test of knowledge about the Uniform Securities Act, as amended by NASAA, and Statements of Policy and Model Rules adopted by NASAA. Note, however, that older study materials will not have incorporated NASAA Statements of Policy and Model Rules adopted since the publication date.
