I have a asked a few people and they don’t know. A: The 49ers traded up in last year’s draft to get Joe Staley. New England was picking 28th, and the Ravens were prepared to grab Staley with the 29th pick. The 49ers were given the Pats’ pick and took Staley, in exchange for giving New England their first-round pick in 2008.
