The retailer Im working on has a financial year that ends on 30th June – what year in the Datacentre relates to this?
Across the datacentre, IGD records data against the calendar year in which majority of the retailer’s financial year occurred. For those retailers, often from Australia or South Africa, where the financial year ends on 30th June we allocate the sales to the year in which the financial year ends. So for a financial year running 1st July 2008 to 30th June 2009, information in the Datacentre will be held under 2009. To aid comparisons, such retailers will often refer to such a year as the “2009 financial year”.
