The results in RISABase do not match my hand calculations. Why?

0

RISABase analyzes the baseplate using finite element analysis. The program assumes that the plate is free to bend out-of-plane and this bending causes a redistribution of forces on the pedestal. Most baseplate hand calculations assume that the plate is rigid. If you would like to use this assumption, you can choose to Force Base Plate to be Rigid in the Base Plate dialog.
