The ResNet service isn as fast as Id like or otherwise does not provide the service I need. Can I pay for a faster or less restrictive broadband service?
The University’s LSS department does not provide a faster service which can be paid for in some way. It would not prove cost effective to offer such a service as the connection to the Internet is provided over the UK academic network JANET which has strict Acceptable Use Policies. If you have a requirement that is essential for your studies, please discuss your requirements with your tutor and contact the ICT Service Desk with confirmation of your requirement in writing. Please note that the telephone line in your halls room is not a BT line, hence it cannot be enabled for an ADSL service as would be possible in a private house.
