Only through artifacts research! Generally you need an artifact searching module that has to be mounted on the ship. The ship is directed to an unsettled planet or to an asteroid field (including radioactive asteroid fields). After a time the ship will find an artifact. Transport the artifact to a planet having a level 6 academy of science and unload it. In the Science menu the explore artifact option will appear. Explore the artifact and you’ll receive either the Forerunners technology, or a nuclear explosion – that’s just the luck of the draw. 2.20.
