The Recording Console in Nero WaveEditor/SoundTrax only displays “Master Volume” as audio input device. Why?

The recording options in Nero WaveEditor and Nero SoundTrax are displayed differently in Windows XP and Windows Vista/Windows 7. In Windows XP the sound card is seen as one device. Therefore, selecting a device will allow you to access all input options in the recording console. In Windows Vista/Windows 7 every input option is seen as a separate device. Therefore, the sound card input option must first be selected in “Device Settings”. You get to this window by clicking the “Options” “Device Settings” entries in the menu bar. In this window, select the preferred “Input Device”. After that, the “Master Volume” entry in the recording console represents the input device selected in the “Device Settings” window.
