The recommended ethernet card does not fit in my system, what do you advise?
Unfortunately there are some systems that can not accept our recommended ethernet card but the following are some key concepts to look for: • In terms of speed the card should support 10/100Mb. • The more bits the better. (For example a 32-bit CardBus ethernetcard is better than an a 16-bit PCMCIA ethernet card). • You want an ethernet card that minimize CPU utilization and maximize throughput. Otherwise, every network packet will interrupt the CPU and slow down PC. This concept is often referred to as bus mastering.
