The “Raunch Reports” are so graphic. Is that necessary?
The “Raunch Reports” are descriptively graphic in nature. We factually distill what was shown and spoken on each of the offensive network programs. Oftentimes, this distillation is shocking but only reflects what was actually aired. We do not whitewash or soften the reports. It is the shock of what actually was broadcast that educates people to how offensive the programming really is without having to actually watch it. It is this shock to the sensibilities that outrages decent people and moves them to action. The “Raunch Reports” are also sent to the local advertisers so they can learn how offensive the programming is that they are supporting. Most advertisers are unaware of the content they support. These reports have a sobering effect on advertisers and, once they are aware of the programming specifics, this awareness places the responsibility directly on the local advertisers.
