The food and drink industry would have us believe that all juice is healthy and backs up their claim with phrases such as ” natural”, “no sugar added” and “organic”. However, the truth of the matter is all commercially produced juices have one very dark secret in common… tons of sugar! On investigation you will find all the carbohydrate in commercial fruit juice comes directly from sugar. Although it is true, fruits themselves contain a lot of natural sugar (fructose), they also contain fibres, vitamins and many other nutritious ingredients. These are lost or at least significantly diminished when a manufacturer processes juice, bottles it and then stores it for any length of time.
