The Question, “What is Sparge?
Sparge started when a bunch of friends that homebrew decided that camping was also a good thing. We came up with an acronym (Semi-annual Potable And Rhetorical Gaming Experience) from a brewing term. We brewed our favorite styles and invited some more friends to help us take over a campground, talk trash, and play some games (liars dice, cards, disk, guess the stain on euge’s shirt, volleyball, hiking, kayaking, fizbane, croquette, and helping Steve Shiro refill his cup) for a weekend. The plan was to have two Sparges a year and six years later we are still gaining momentum. Basically we meet up on a Friday, don our loud shirts, and let off some steam until Sunday.
