As noted above, M. D. Anderson, along with a group of partners, formed a company (Proton Therapy Center-Houston Ltd., LLP) to develop, own and operate the proton facility. The company is a limited liability partnership jointly owned by M. D. Anderson and private investors. M. D. Anderson will operate, staff and provide all the operational expertise at the facility, while the private investors provide the necessary capital and participate in the facilitys development.
