The policy change that uncommitted cost sharing does not have to be certified — does this apply to PIs and other faculty, anyone working on a sponsored project, or only to the PI?
The federal regulation states “faculty and senior researchers.” At the University of Minnesota, we have implemented this language as faculty and principal investigators of non-faculty rank. Therefore non-faculty, such as post-docs, graduate students, research assistants, P&A staff, lab technicians, etc. must continue to certify all of their effort, including committed and uncommitted cost sharing.
