No, every single insurance policy can be different, even within the same insurance carrier. It is the patient’s responsibility to know her own benefits. This may include such things as no wellness/preventive coverage, authorization required to visit a specific type of physician, insurance driven treatment by a primary care physician, etc. Please read through your description of benefits book each time one is sent to you. Even if your insurance carrier does not change, your benefits can change at the time of renewal, many times without notification.
