The number of PCSO’s is increasing all the time. What is the union doing for them?

There are over 4000 PCSO’s now and the vast majority have joined the union. We have a very active PCSO sub-committee that meet regularly as well as reserved seats for PCSO’s on our GEC. Among the issues your PCSO reps are involved in include opposition to lone patrolling, pushing for a career path and management structure, more training including a recognised PCSO NVQ, a more professional uniform and an ending to the two tier workforce whereby PCSO’s are on inferior terms and conditions to other police staff.
