Yes. While we have yet to fail anyone based on notebook content alone, notebook content is a general indicator of effort put into the course. It should also be noted that the notebook IS an A.B.E.T. outcome for this course, and therefore, yes, you can fail the class solely based on a poorly maintained notebook. As a side note, your notebook is the only way to really know what you’ve done. Once you’re in industry, you will have too many projects to possibly remember every detail without the assistance of a notebook, not to mention that your employers will most likely require you to maintain one.
