You should request primary assignment to the NIDCD and request the Communication Disorders Review Committee (CDRC). When your application is assigned to the NIDCD, it should be reviewed in either the CDRC or the CDRC Conflicts study section. Both of these study sections are convened by the NIDCD’s Scientific Review Branch and review the NIDCD’s NRSA Fellowship applications. The bulk of the NIDCD’s NRSA fellowship applications are reviewed by the CDRC, while the CDRC Conflicts panel reviews applications that have a conflict of interest with the CDRC panel. The CDRC Conflicts panel will have a designation of ZDC1 SRB-%(#), where % is a letter of the alphabet and # is a numeral. It is very important that you check your Commons account every day after you submit your application to see which study section your application has been assigned to.
