The newsgroups via Fishtalk are very slow compared to using my usual newsgroup programme?
Yes. Reading newsgroups on the web is much slower than reading them via a programme such as Outlook Express. However there are also advantages. Most ISP’s that allow you to connect to the internet without any charge to your phone bill do not have ‘Usenet’ access which makes it impossible to read/post newsgroups via the usual programme but you can use Fishtalks web based method, even with these free phone ISP’s. You will discover that there are other advantages too!
