The new IRIX Kerberos client kit from Kirby won work, what can I do?
I installed krb5-client-irix6.5-20040914.tgz. I put the krb5.conf that came with the new package in /etc. I changed the default realm in the new krb5.conf to “default_realm = MHPCC.HPC.MIL”. When I type “kpasswd user_id””, I get prompted for my password. When I type “kshell” followed by “kinit user_id”, I get “kinit(v5): No credentials cache found while getting default ccache” A: Are you by chance using the csh? If so, try changing your login shell in the /etc/passwd to the tcsh and running all the commands I listed above again. There is a known problem with the csh and IRIX and the pipe cache. • Q: I am not authorized to log into my own directory. A: Do your login IDs differ from the machine you are logging in from and MHPCC? If so, the -l option must be used. Example: krsh -l mhpcc_loginid login3.hoku.mhpcc.hpc.mil. • Q: My card was NOT issued by MHPCC and I receive a telnetd: Authorization failed error. A: You must email your principal login ID and realm to MHPCC to create your .k5l
