YES definitely get it changed. My husband put my daughter’s abbreviated name on her ticket and it was NOT accepted. She had to miss the flight and get it altered; Security it tight on these matters.

No the name on passport and ticket must match exactly. otherwise you will be turned away at Border agency point. Call the airline to advise its not a name change but a correction and they should do it for a small charge (budget airlines) or even free(BA and mainstream). Do this NOW.
