The music in the film is all riot grrl stuff. Why is this?
It was the inspiration for the film – but not just early 90s stuff – Peaches and Letigre and contemporary feminist punk-ish stuff. “I was inspired by feminist politics and have always been intrigued by people on the margins. I find humour and absurdity in extreme people.” So would you describe yourself as a riot girl?! No. I’m a filmmaker that dated some riot girls. I believe you used an all female crew on this film.
