The Mothers Union, Nurse Packer and St Lukes Nursing Services How are they linked to the Christ Church Milton?
In February 1904 the first branch of the Mothers Union was formed at Christ Church by the Reverend J. Tomlin. The Milton Branch of the Mothers Union employed Nurse Packer as a District Nurse. Sister packer did her rounds up and down the hills of Paddington and nearby suburbs on a bicycle. This was the beginning of the St Lukes Nursing Service.
