The Mayor of the town has asked the city council to get involved. What are his plans, to overturn the separation of church and state?
This is a losing battle, for everyone. The students learn contempt for the law, instead of the foundation for the law; a community becomes further radicalized to Biblical law, and anyone who enters the town with an opposing view probably faces violence. ___________________________________________________ * I also find it very telling that the high school in dispute has no statement acknowledging the rights of various perspectives, no declaration of acceptance of various ways of thinking, and no religious diversity statement in the student handbook–what is that teaching the young people who mature in their hallways?
