The License Agreement says I cannot manufacture the parts. What’s the deal?

Certain parts of a vehicle are deemed safety critical. The last thing we want is for some people with insufficient experience to copy or mimic our design and hurts themselves and/or their neighbors. The Open Design License Agreement explicitly prohibits licensees to build an actual product based on the design data. These components need to be designed, built, tested and certified by qualified entities. The production license is still work in progress. Production licenses will be granted on a case by case basis, based on the capabilities of the applicant.
