The letter sent home in December did mention those ‘feelings’ or opinions. The committee is comprised of diverse viewpoints and some of those opinions have been shared as a benefit due to our diverse population. However, the reason for the uniform exploration process is because of concerns and suggestions from the parent community. Please remember that the uniform committee didn’t exist until after the concerns from the community were brought to the School Improvement Team and after the staff voted overwhelming in support of further action. The positive responses on the survey in October led to the continuation of writing a policy that could be voted on. 14. FACT or OPINION? the proposed policy does not allow individuality of the students. There are many diverse opinions on this topic. Keep in mind that even with a uniform policy, students can still individualize their clothing in some of the same ways they are accustomed to now such as shoes, socks, accessories, color choices and hair
