National Foam used to be on the AFFF qualified products list, but the Kidde company bought National Foam several years ago, so only Kidde’s name now appears. Kidde retains the National Foam manufacturing plant and trademark. As long as the part number on the container for Kidde or National Foam AFFF is Aer-O-Water 6EM for 6%, or Aer-O-Water 3EM for 3%, these are qualified products and authorized aboard Navy ships. This applies to either 5-gallon or 55-gallon containers.
