The installation program will not accept my product serial number. What’s the problem?

Please make sure you include the hyphens when you enter your serial number. For example, if your serial number is 99999-AAAA-12345, enter all 16 characters including the hyphens. When I open the CD-ROM application, the left sidebar containing the Table of Contents and search results is not visible. All I see is the main window that displays the Chicago Manual of Style page. Why? Do you have your computer screen rotated so the longest side is vertical (also known as “portrait mode”)? Version 1.0.2 of the CD-ROM will not fully display in portrait mode. For a patch that will fix this problem, click on CD-ROM Updates. Subsequent versions of the CD-ROM will allow you to use portrait mode.
