• The right of subject access (the right to know what information the Council holds about you and to be provided with a copy of this information) • The right to prevent processing (in certain circumstances) • The right to prevent your information being used for marketing purposes • Rights in relation to automated decision-making (for example where decisions are made entirely by computer, in the case of scoring candidates for interview or credit rating) • The right to compensation if processing has caused damage and distress • The right to have inaccurate information amended or destroyed • The right to ask the Information Commissioner to assess whether the Council is in breach of the Data Protection Act. To exercise any of these rights, you should make your request in writing to the Information Officer.
