The immission limits for nitrogen oxides have not been met. Is this expected to affect human health in the region?

According to the immission forecast, the overall contamination from nitrogen oxides will statistically be exceeded at one assessment point in Frankfurt-Höchst that is located within the facility’s defined “exposure zone”. However, not only has the City of Frankfurt’s clean-air plan been designed to reduce nitrogen-oxide immissions over the next several years, but the immission forecast is also based on contamination parameters that actual operations will probably not even reach. Because of this, it is safe to assume that nitrogen-oxide immissions will also meet the requirements laid out in the Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA Luft). There is thus no reason why the plant should have any negative impact on human health in the region.
