The HR-20 receiver does not complete software download, but starts over. What is causing this?
This is a problem with the original hard drive format on the HR-20 receivers. 1. The first step is a “reset everything” from reset menu. This will erase all recordings and reset all settings to factory defaults. If this does not fix the download issue try step 2. 2. The second step to try is a “reformat” which is done with the following procedure: First do a red button reset. When you get the first blue screen, wait for it to go away (turn black). Press and hold the down arrow and record buttons on the DVR (not the remote). Hold them down for about 5 seconds, the record light should turn on. Release the buttons and wait. Note: Your guide data will take 24 to 48 hours to reload.
