The persistent abuse of illegal drugs, despite them being not merely controlled but banned, suggests that this or any government will have a hard time with the drink problem. People want to drink. If the price is raised, there are those who will skimp on luxuries (like food and clothing for themselves and their families) to make sure that they do not go short of the essential alcohol. Alcohol is also easy and startlingly cheap to manufacture in the home: once the boozing classes realise how simple it is to brew an alcoholic mash and freeze-distil it into hooch using an ordinary home freezer, how will a government control them? This is another attempt by our government to put more unnecessary laws into place before they have used thought and commonsense to change the existing laws and put a simple law into place which covers all aspects for the problem. I really pity the next sensible government we get who has to undo all the mess this present lot have caused with the stupid senseless laws they have put in place The answer to the drink laws is simple total ban on under 18 year old drinking anywhere just like the USA.
