The fire department requires an emergency exit so you would not have to go back inside the building to get out in an emergency. Alcoholic Beverage Control strictly forbids it from being a doorway for regular ingress and egress. Yes, it is alarmed, loudly I might add. Folks that can’t read the huge sign are obviously in no need of additional service and are sent away.
