The Gambia is predominantly Muslim, whats the relation of the Muslims to non-Muslims people?
Well as far as I am concerned, I am working very hard as the chairman of inter-faith in the Gambia, and my co-chairman is Edou Gomez, St. Peter’s, Lamin and we’re working very hard to bring good neighboring and to bring good co-existence as two faiths. As youknow right now we have many faiths stepping into both religions-being a Muslim or a Christian. If you go to the Islamic side you find very hardliners; serious “Tijans”, serious ones you know and they’ve zero tolerance to any non-Muslim, which is un-Islamic. At the same time with the Christian people it’s the same thing. There you have the Born Agains and other types of religions-they have zero tolerance to others. Somehow it’s really, really scary to be very candid. But the Gambia being what it is, I definitely believe all faiths of religious people should come together where we can address our people. Because, I cannot advice the Christian community but I can advice the Muslim community and the Christian leaders can advice the Chr
