Paying respects to the survivors and remembering the person who passed on is of great importance. Having a recognized funeral rite, service, whatever is not what is important in my opinion. Happy Thursday!

Yes, I agree. Memorial services which precede the funeral service are normally used as the last witness by the deceased to the family, relatives and friends. Gospel messages are usually shared for their benefits.
