The FE-280 has a DIS Edit function. What is it, and how does it work?
DIS EDIT, or Digital Image Stabilization Edit, is an in-camera editing tool that corrects for blurring caused by camera movement during image capture, commonly called camera shake. A gyro sensor embedded in the camera detects the vertical and horizontal range of the camera shake for every shot, and the information is used to compensate and sharpen the blurred image. The camera actually separates the image into layers and then realigns the layers to fix the blur. The corrected image is saved as a new file. Although the original image is preserved, the Digital Image Stabilization Edit function can only be applied to that image once. The best possible correction is made, and subsequent applications of the function to the original image will only result in saving multiple identical corrected images. Digital Image Stabilization Edit cannot be applied to a corrected image. The degree to which Digital Image Stabilization Edit can correct blur is approximately equal to taking the same shot aga
