The envy and admiration of others?
Winning poems are published in the Ingersoll Times newspaper. At the Poetry Evening, all of the winners are given a certificate and ribbon and some of the winning poems are read aloud. If I win I have to stand up and read my poem? Oh, I can’t do that. All of those people…. It’s okay. We won’t torture you like that. Either the emcee for the evening or another presenter read the winning poems. All that the winners have to do is accept their winnings and take a bow. My Wallpaper Appreciation Club meets the same night at the Poetry Evening so I can’t come collect my winnings. If you cannot attend the Evening, you may come into the Ingersoll Public Library and pick them up anytime after the Poetry Evening.
