We understand that there is some ambiguity in the use of the term junior for describing academic status. It is the intention of the Hollings Scholarship program to provide selected applicants support for two complete years of full-time academic study and an intervening summer internship. Eligible Hollings applicants include 3rd year students expecting to graduate after 4 years of undergraduate work and 4th year students expecting to graduate in 5 years. To maintain eligibility, students must demonstrate full-time status for both academic years during which they are Hollings scholars. Applicants that will be entering their 4th or 5th academic year in fall 2005 and expecting to graduate at the end of that same year are not eligible.
