4.6 billion years is correct by the way, and when our solar system drifted from the Sagittarius Arm and was out in the open, the radiation from our sun was much more intense and life went crazy, i.e.: the Cambrian Era. We should be lucky that we drifted into the Orion Spur so that we again have so much dust blocking much of the rational coming from our own sun. There was also no oxygen until after plant life came about and expelled it, which is why we should not be cutting down so many forests.
