The County of Los Alamos owns two hydroelectric plants in Aqiquiu and in El Vado… are these qualifying hydroelectric plants?

The County does own two hydroelectric plants, but these plants currently do not qualify as renewably energy resources. The Department of Public Utilities, however, is in the process of determining the feasibility of modifying the Abiquiu hydroelectric plant to include a low flow turbine generator. If this project is approved and implemented, this modification will qualify as a renewable energy resource.
