The correct needle size for acne scars or other facial scars?
We recommend 0.5mm for light acne scarring, mild chicken pox scars or ice pick scars, or simply regular anti ageing treatments. A 1.0mm roller is more suitable for deep acne scarring, surgery scars, ice pick or chicken pox scars, and 1.5mm Derma Rollers are for very deep scarring. A Derma Roller 1.5mm is the maximum we would recommend for use on the face (unless as part of a professional treatment), but your body is less sensitive to treatment, so you should decide which would best suit your needs. You may also wish to choose the 3 line roller as it is better suited to use on certain parts of your face (such as around the nose), but it is not always necessary as our regular roller may suit you.
