The Control Dial on top of the camera doesnt seem to be functioning correctly. Is there a special setting?
The Control Dial can be set up to perform different functions in the Advanced shooting modes: P, A, S, and M. The Control Dial performs in the factory default settings as follows: P (Program) Rotating the control dial changes the shutter speeds and f-stop combinations while maintaining correct exposure. This is called Program Shift. In the home setting, a P is displayed in the upper left of the Control Panel screen. As the Control Dial is rotated, the P changes to Ps, indicating Program Shift. Program shift is like being in the AUTO mode while being able to select a shutter speed or f-stop. If the Exposure Compensation button is held down while rotating the Control Dial in the Program mode, the exposure compensation values will be changed. The values are displayed on the Control panel screen if they are other than 0. A (Aperture Priority) Rotating the Control Dial changes the f-stops. The f-stop values are displayed on the Control Panel screen. The shutter speeds will change to compens
