The compile option is grayed out. Whats wrong?
You have to have a project open in order to compile. You cannot start Quartus, open a file and tell it to compile. So be sure to always open your project (or create a new one) when you start Quartus. • I get a bunch of warnings when I compile. Are they bad? Always look at the warnings (yellow triangles with exclamation points) when compiling. They are your best aid for determining errors in your design. The following warnings are harmless: • …could not find EDA tool… • …used Leonardo Spectrum… • Converted TRI buffer to OR gate or removed OPNDRN • Output pins are stuck at VCC or GND • Timing characteristics of device EP20K200EFC484-2 are preliminary • Found pins functioning as undefined clocks and/or memory enables Other warning messages should be more of a concern to you.
