Grey hair that is resistant to colour will need to be shampooed first. Shampoo, towel dry well and apply the colour to damp hair. You can extend the development time up to fifty minutes. Medication can also be a problem; HRT and Thyroxin can block colour. You could also apply very low heat with a hairdryer for the first ten minutes of the development time.
