The CD audio connector of the WavePRO doesn fit my cable that came with my CD-ROM drive. What can I do?
If you cannot find a cable that is compatible with your CD-ROM drive, then there are a few good software alternatives for you. Sonic Foundry’s Siren and the new Microsoft Media Player version 7 can output audio CD’s directly to the output of the Wave PRO without the need of an internal CD-Audio cable. Essentially, these programs read your CD’s as wave audio and pass it directly to your WavePRO’s outputs. Your CD’s will never have sounded this good, as this bypasses the usual D/A->A/D process that usually takes place with using an analog cable. Q: When Windows starts, or when a system sound plays, I hear a stuttering/helicopter type noise coming out of the outputs.A: This is usually an indication of an IRQ conflict, but it can also be caused by multiple system sounds trying to use the WavePRO at the same time. Since the WavePRO was not designed as a general-purpose sound card, disabling system sounds from the ‘Sounds’ Control Panel or routing them to a multimedia sound card is recommend
