The cartridges include a chip and my printer does not recognize them when I replace them. What is wrong?
This sometimes happens after cartridge replacement. Try unplugging the printer from the wall socket and wait a minute, do not use the printer’s on/off switch as most printers now use a “soft” power switch that does not completely turn off the printer. Plug the printer back in and turn on, this often resolves the problem. This action is the only way to completely reset the printer’s internal electronics. If you continue to have a problem, try repeating the process but also remove the cartridges before you unplug it and replace them after powering it up.
