The CARE bill used to be known as the Consumer Assurance of Radiologic Excellence (CARE) bill. Why the name change?
Many of the imaging disciplines included in the CARE legislation are not directly related to radiology and some cross over into other medical fields such as cardiology and obstetrics. To more accurately reflect medical imaging’s move to the front lines of medicine, the Alliance changed the name of the legislation to the “Consistency, Accuracy, Responsibility and Excellence (CARE) in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy” bill.
