The carbohydrates and fiber don seem to add up on the label… How many carbs and how much fiber is in Greentein?
Our label follows the government guidelines, or at least the expert that put it together tells us it does. We make no claims to understand government labeling guidelines, so we had to outsource to people that do. Because insoluble fiber sources are counted as carbohydrates, but you can not digest them, the math to add it together gets odd. Further, the soluble fiber would not do much good if it was digestible, but the carbs from these sources must be counted for reasons we do not understand. We had the reason that we have to claim 6.8 grams of fiber instead of 12.6 explained to us several times, but we still do not understand it to the point where we can explain it. All of the allowable labeling options were unclear and confusing, so we went with the one that made the most sense to us, or more precisely, confused us least. It is easier to explain it without adding it up. Greentein contains: 6.8 grams insoluble fiber derived from the green formula, which count as carbohydrates 5.8 grams
